A321 Transcon Entertainment System Issues
the last few times I’ve flown JetBlue, there have been significant issues with the entertainment system. Resets are the norm. I’ve also found that a lot of the headphone jacks have failed. On my most recent flight they reset the entertainment system 30 minutes into the flight for no specific reason and somehow rolled back the entertainment system to at least the previous month, eg, before the reset, “Thor: Ragnarok” and “The Mountain Between Us” disappeared. Also, the DirecTV was “Out of TV Coverage” the rest of the flight.
in the grand scheme of things, it’s of course not a huge deal, but it’s frustrating that this happens with apparent recent regularity (perhaps related to the fact that entertainment is on demand now?) and that no flight attendant has any idea how any of his works. Other passengers asked for information and the flight attendants had none.

Generally speaking the FAs only know one thing about the system: Where the reset switch is. Truth is that if a reset doesn't fix the system then there's nothing else to be done with the plane in the air.
Also, FWIW, the vendors will generally recommend against a reboot en route, especially of the wifi systems.

I also noticed the entertainment system was active during boarding but was unavailable (“coming soon”) until we reached 10,000 feet. Hoping this was a separate issue and not some new policy based on trying to get people to focus on nothing during takeoff.
