JFK-LAX evening. Tomatoes and burrata choice excellent, short rib delicious. But the chicken choice went uneaten - very dry.

For eastbound lunch, I'd love to hear any recommendations or anti-recommendations for the peach & burrata salad, salmon salad, or lasagna! Those are the three that I'm eyeing ... and to know what flavor of ice cream it is this month

Nice Thai basil dip, wish there were more vegetables supplied to dip with.
The burrata in the peach and burrata salad is super smooth.
The chicken was a bit dry by itself, so you need to eat it with the slaw and dressing.
The braised beef and black bean rice tastes a lot better than it looks!!
Eat your fruit first before diving into the ice cream.

Nice thanks! I fly this route in a couple days, so very timely
The blanched veggies always make me a bit sad, just because I adore the taro chips and basically always want the Welcome taste to feature those. But its nice that they mix it up with a healthier option sometimes ... I haven't had that dip yet, but the dips in general I tend to adore, so looking forward to trying it, even if it means with veggies, lol.
The burrata and peach salad looks great - definitely getting that one. I think i'm going to go for the lasagna too, and perhaps the salmon salad, although that beef actually does look good.
The ice cream is always served *super* hard, so I agonizingly wait until it gets soft anyway. Fruit will occupy me while I wait, lol.

August Westbound Dinner
Starter: Fried wontons with Asian sesame dip
Mains: Heirloom Tomato & Peach Salad, Chicken Ribolita, Pork Belly
Fresh fruit for dessert
Ice cream was not catered! Not that I need it... I like that the normal offering now seems to be both fruit and the ice cream for dessert. Except for tonight.
Fried wontons and dip were great. I could have done another of those easily.
Salad was OK, although not really into raw tomatoes. Just the peaches and more of them would have been perfect.
The chicken part of the Chicken Ribolita was decent.
Pork belly was OK, one piece was all fat however. Port wine was literally port wine, not a sauce, so very alcohol-y.
Also available were: Piri Piri Scallops and Mushroom Cobbler.
Not the best I've had in Mint, for my tastes anyway, but filling enough. Sometimes I wish they'd be less fancy and just have a solid steak option.

Pretty disappointed in their scotch choice of Dewers so I went with Bulleit and Coke
From Left to Right: The Squash Lasagna was excellent, the Miso-Chicken was really good and the salmon salad was pretty meh. Some sadly tasteless salmon
Ice cream with freezer burn is not a good look
Before landing cookie, kinda disappointing.

Ive noticed the freezer burn or ice crystals on a number of different pictures and not just with JetBlue... do you think its less of an issue with the age of the ice cream and more an issue with semi melted and then quickly frozen again or just deep deep dry ice frozen or something?
Maybe its an unfortunate necessity that comes with the territory of having ice cream on a jet...

My fiancee is sitting Mint on a JFK-SFO flight right now, and she says the banana ice cream is delicious and tastes like frozen banana pudding.
I think it's the first time she's ever texted me about food in-flight, so I guess she was happy about this.
