Does anyone know how they determine which routes have the Shuteye menu and which have the normal lunch/dinner options? The times they list are overlapping.
We are taking flight 278 SFO - FLL departs at 11:30pm |

That will be the shut-eye menu. Eastbound flights departing after 8pm get shut-eye.

You will have the shuteye menu. Good catch on the typo. Lunch/dinner should end at 7:59pm.

Never had this before on B6. Is the quality of the meal fairly comparable to lunch/dinner?

I知 allergic to shellfish and don稚 like the taste of lamb, so unless I can get a double portion of the brick chicken (which does taste good!), I知 going to be hungry on the flight. LOL

Ironically, that's the only standard menu that actually appeals to me. The brick chicken is a returning dish that happens to be pretty good (slightly modified). I've also heard good things about the shrimp & grits in the past.

Westbound breakfast
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f340b1bb6.jpeg
Welcome Pastry - Apple Turnover. Very flaky and tasty! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...428fc0297.jpeg Coconut yogurt, smoked salmon salad, blueberry banana pancakes https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...9277a625c.jpeg Blueberry banana pancakes - golden syrup. The pancakes are really good without the syrup! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0a4ea7ae4.jpeg Smoked salmon salad - cherry tomato, english cucumber, pumpernickel. If the slices of bread could be toasted, they would have been perfect scoopers for the smoked salmon. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...423a0c85b.jpeg Coconut yogurt - seven-grain house-made granola, bee pollen, orange, blueberry, almonds. Delicious!! |
Eastbound lunch

Two servings of Spicy Brick Chicken, Charred Broccolini Salad, and Sweet Bites https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...cfafc4bd6.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f5ea96d9c.jpeg Spicy Brick Chicken - collard greens, horseradish mash, onion sauce. This dish was not spicy at all to me, very flavorful though. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...416d9aab6.jpeg Charred Broccolini Salad - mustard greens, pears, quince membrillo, citrus dressing, toasted hazelnuts https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...72cacb57c.jpeg Sweet Bites - two scoops of pistachio ice cream and one scoop of vanilla ice cream. |
I had the same eastbound menu, though my chicken looked very different from yours:
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...80524add1.jpeg Overall a great meal, I was surprised by how much I actually liked the sweet potato salad, really tasty. Shrimp and grits as well as the chicken were both great too. IMO no one in North America beats the current B6 soft product. Having had AA's Flagship F transcon offering a few days before I'd choose the B6 menus every time. |
Maybe catering forgot the spice for my flight? LOL
Forgot to mention, almonds were served before the 3 dishes & dessert were brought out. On the westbound flight, the apple turnover was served before the three breakfast dishes were brought out.

Big thumbs up to B6! They are the only airline serving ice cream within domestic flights now.

I知 properly impressed by the B6 soft product, CV or not. No one on the continent currently beats them, in fact really not even close as far as I知 concerned.
