Seat Selection

I can now see the available seats when looking at the different flights, as compared to having to do a booking to see the seat maps. Good job B6 getting this out.

This is great, it is a really friendly format and important since jetBlue is adding the A321 to the fleet this fall.

This view displays seat availability only. We do not oversell our flights, so if there is no available seat to select, one will be assigned to you at the airport.
Contradictory statement.

Not really. Some seats may be blocked, e.g., in case they are needed by passengers with disabilities or special needs. So they may not be able to assign you a particular seat, even if the number of passengers ticketed is no more than the number of seats on the plane.

That, and you can either pay for an EMS seat or have it assigned to you for free at the airport.

Does that happen with every flight?

Yes. JetBlue does not overbook. IDB'd passengers are compensated $1300, so I'd say that it happens once every few blue moons.

As with all other airlines, this does not include standby passengers. Standby passengers do not count as booked on the flight until they are assigned a seat. If there's no room, then they are not booked. Ticketed passengers without seats are processed and assigned seats at the gate before standby passengers.

Seat Selection

On the 320 usually rows 6 and 25 are blocked for gate assignment and on the 190 it's rows 2 and 25.
