Question EMS question

While I know FAs are busy, do FAs monitor the use of EMS seating on long flights? Planning to purchase EMS, IAD-LGB, and wonder if this is a wise investment.

Thanks.

I have seen FA's kick out people who did not purchase EMS seats. As someone who pays money for these seats I was ready to applaud the FA's in this case.

80-20 chance you get bagged if you try to poach. If you are taller and value the space, it's well worth it on a longer flight.

They're supposed to, yes. I wouldn't risk it.

EMS is money well spent in my opinion.

Don't bother trying to sneak in for free. Low probability, as you would need a non-full flight, passengers that don't know the statis of other seats, and FAs that aren't doing their job.

When using JB, always buy EMS.

Have never been on a flight where the FA has allowed a non-paying flyer to sit in EMS, even when there has been 11 MT seats (mine being used). Have even asked for my wife to sit by me (she is much smaller and never puts her seat back - so we say the $$ and she usually sits 1 row behind) and FA has informed me that they are only for paying customers..........which is great.

It is great! And certainly worth a buy.

I needed to be sure that there was enforcement, and understanding by the FAs.

All replies have been helpful.

Thanks.

We do protect our EMS seats and those customers who have paid extra to have the space and early boarding. I just had an issue the other day and I double checked our policy and our policy is to politely inform the customer who sat in the EMS section w/o paying that these are premium seats and that they may sit there is they would like however there is a charge associated with it. I am always polite with the customers as some just don't know about it and I try to offer a different seat to them as many are looking for 2 seats that are empty so that they can spread out and i don't blame them and usually I can help them out. That being said, I am very protective of those seated in our premium seats. You have paid extra to have the ability to sit there and i'm going to make sure you get the full worth of those seats.
