JFK and FLL to PAP.

Actually, they won't be in JFK due to the congestion. Only where they will fly from MCO/FLL/BOS-PAP.

It won't be Canada this year.

Possibly 2013! "@DarrenChannel: Greetings from a former All-You-Can-Jetter! Any chance of JB adding routes to Canada? Calgary? Vancouver?"

Hate to break it to you:

JetBlue will likely not expand domestically but maybe one or two cities. The only certain thing is they are eyeing ATL, but they were bitten once and now twice shy about it. The DFW announcement is a one-off due to the AA bankruptcy.

Expansion is going to heavily, and possibly strictly, the Caribbean, South America, and that neck of the woods.

Brazil??

Does anyone know if the 320's have the range to reach Brazil ex-FLL/MCO? Brazil is an intriguing market being that the country is an emerging energy power. Also, with the Olympics and World Cup coming up, there will be no shortage of demand.

Not for a while unless if they have A320neo delivery.

I expect PVD and ISP to happen this year.

Also, FLL-BOG is coming; anyone know a date on that or if it is officially announced?

With incentives now available at GSO, let's hope B6 considers new service there.

No, I haven't hear anything lately. I'll let you know if I hear any more new info from DOT.

Looks like they applied for the authorities in September 2011. It was approved but, apparently due to delays on the Colombia side, the company has requested a delay until May for starting the service. http://www.airlineinfo.com/Sites/Dai...t20110174.html

Oh great! Now we will wait for a while. I guess due to Colombia government hasn't gotten approved yet.

sbm12 Jan 29, 2012 8:32 pm

Actually, the Colombians have approved it per the details in that link.

From Providence, expect San Juan to be in the mix as an initial destination or added soon after start up. As with Hartford, there is a huge under-served Puerto Rican market.

For business destinations, only Philadelphia would seem to make sense since most ex-Airtran pax who do not like Southwest will just go back to Delta.

I was surprised that Jetblue did not pick up Newport News since Airtran was able to make Boston, New York and Orlando work, all big bases for Jetblue. Maybe they will still add it in 2012. '

I wish they would add something else in Mexico, beyond to Cancun. Orlando-Mexico City seems to be a no-brainer. Same with Orlando-Panama City.

GamerEdie Jan 31, 2012 3:48 pm

Not likely, I'm guessing.

Dave Neeleman started JetBlue and was unceremoniously dumped. He went to Brazil and started Azul, and now he owns it outright and it's not a public company. I'm guessing that JetBlue is not keen to stick its toe into Neeleman's pool, especially when Neeleman can pretty much do anything he wants without stockholders looking over his shoulder and second guessing him. It makes him more able to react quickly and decisively if JetBlue started to threaten his market. And he knows where so many of the bodies are buried within JetBlue that he would have a strategic advantage there, as well.

Maybe PHF? Newport News, VA

New airline will be announced on Feb 13.
