Cancelling a flight

Sorry to post this here since I know the information is on Jetblue's website. I did read it but didn't really understand what it means to me.

All fares must be purchased at time of reservation, and are one-way, nonrefundable, and nontransferable. Cancellations and changes can be made prior to scheduled departure for $100 per person
I have a flight credit for a flight that my wife and I will be taking. We are going to be flying to SJU out of BUF for a Cruise in August. I would like to book the flight now to get the flights I want. If I cancel a flight purchased with flight credit does the cancellation fee come off my flight credit or do I have to pay cash. I believe it is $100.00 is this correct.

Thanks

You will get the purchase price of the flight, minus the $100 fee, back as a credit. Keep in mind that it will retain the expiration date of original credit.

That's fine as long as I don't owe them $100 cash. I sure hope I don't have to cancel but things come up.

Thanks
