I gotta put smilies on these things or some folks take them seriously! Humor, however misguided, was intended, honest. Along those lines, let me add that I rate the overall restaurant selection at Roppongi Hills as substantially superior to Tokyo Midtown.

Cappuccino
There is a comprehensive review, complete with pictures of each course, over at V-Flyer.
Chef Ramsey trained at El Bulli so the food is similar to what you'd expect there, but its done with real Japanese style and accuracy. I loved this meal, mainly because Chef Ramsey got you so involved, explaining the history of each dish and how he creates it, all while preparing it within minutes infront of you.
My favourite courses were the Miracle Fruit (for its amazing ability to change your tastebuds), the Langoustine and the Fish Fry. I was slightly dissapointed with the carrot caviar. Its amazing to see it prepared, but the actual taste of the dish wasnt that good, and the Miso Soup dish just didnt agree with me, but it was a superb meal and certainly not expensive.

Is it difficult to make a reservation? Would it be easier if we were staying at the MO?

We made our reservation through AmEx Centurion, which enabled us to grab the entire Tapas bar for all seven of us travelling, though we had to choose from (i think) two nights out of the four we were staying at the MO for, If there are less in your party i'd say the chances would be greater, especially if you are staying at the MO. Once you have your reservation i'd drop them a line. We found the concierce to be amazingly helpful.

Thank you very much, LaydeeSarah!^
(The strangest concept of all for me, and which eludes my imagination most, is the first on the list - 'yakult beer'. Then again, I can count on FT to stretch my limits a bit. A few days ago this was inconceivable, now, not only have I grasped it, but my husband's dog owning fantasies have bulged considerably to encompass one of them too. And he is sooo not a cat person.)

(Shhh! When I showed MrLapLap the images of Maine Coons that's the one he picked up on and starting cooing over. I didn't have the heart to point out that the image title includes 'fake-giant-cat' in it. If I burst his dream now it will dribble down a distressing pet cemetery route, I don't need him sweating any more at night. At least it isn't a leopard or a giant bunny, so that's some progress.)

We were charged 10'000 Yen each for the meal - 44.91/$88.62 at today's exchange rate. Considering this meal lasts several hours i think its amazingly cheap. Of course this does not include drinks or gratuities, but one can hardly class this as expensive, given what most gourmet restaurants charge.
We actually found the 'Japan is expensive' line of thought to be a bit of a myth. The only thing that was expensive for us were the hotel transfers by car, so we used the train.
