I believe that there are still some foreign-issued bank cards that won't work in a conbini, but will work at a Citibank ATM.

Have tried ATMs at convenience stores a few times without any luck. Always end up going to post office or Citibank. I also believe that foreign Citibank accounts don't incur a fee at their ATMs. Will have to look at my statements to confirm. Also dislike the withdrawal fees charged by Japanese ATMs on weekends/nights even if you use your Japanese ATM card. Haven't tried using my Japanese ATM card abroad actually. Does that work?

It does work but the card has to be an "International use" card.

Citi bank(issued in Japan) cards do not incur a fee at anytime..........but you must keep a hefty(1,000,000 Yen) balance to get this service, YMMV.
I also experience no problems at convenience stores or post offices.

Is the floor of the hotel?

The Four Seasons is pretty darn nice....

If the rate wasn't so much, I really like having to just be right next to the office.

Unfortunately I can't get my foreign (French) ATM card to work at the post office ATMs anymore (last month or so). Luckily am not too far away to Citibank and the card worked fine. Anyone else having problems using post office ATMs lately?

Used a "Canadian" bank card at the Miyajima post office......money appeared and it was no problem.
