Quick turn around HND

Looking at landing HND on a USA-ICN-GMP-HND, landing at 0945 and turning right around and departing on LH F HND-FRA-USA at 1235. All wil be on an Aeroplan award.

Do I have to enter Japan to go then to my LH flight or can I just follow transfers to my gate?

Thank you

If no bags definitely shouldn't have to enter Japan.

If have checked bag depends on if you get it checked through back to the US when you start your journey. I assume not since seems like you're doing this for LH F.

Correct. Overnight ICN/GMP then early morning GMP-HND on one ticket, then HND-FRA-USA on separate ticket. I figured if I had checked-in for LH while in ICN I'd just get my paper ticket at a transfer desk. Hand bag only.

Same here.

But maybe they mean that international flights arrive and depart from terminal 2 (small portion) and terminal 3 (majority)? But even if that's the case, I think you can move between the two terminals without entering Japan. Will obviously take more time though.

You'll need to enter Korea to transfer between ICN and GMP, you won't need to enter Japan to connect to FRA. There shouldn't be a problem with checking in at GMP for FRA-USA whether you have an GMP-HND boarding pass or not. I've had overnights before at ICN (noonish arrival and departure the next morning) and my bags were checked through and I got my BP for the departure leg from the lounge since my I couldn't check in at the hotel until early afternoon. There may be a minor BP issue on the GMP-HND leg since you'll need to enter Korea. All of the major airlines in both Korea and Japan have online check in and BPs so you can check in when you get to Korea.
No experience with an I-I ICN to GMP connection but I've always had to check in at GMP for the domestic leg.

Haha true. I guess I just skipped that part, assuming OP is on some sort of mileage / elite qualification run.

The real answer is, I have an exorbitant amount of Aeroplan points, there's a few treats my wife loves that I bring back from duty free, and most of all I love to fly and have never had good redemption in, and never have flown, LH F.

Sadly, award availability disappeared on my outward leg(s).

What are you aiming to get her?

These are great, BTW

Use by date does tend to be on the sooner side though.
Hojicha versions are just as delicious

I wouldnt advise it, but if you do buy similar cookies in either of the South Korean airports, dont give them to anyone who has eaten the high ranking Japanese versions.

That's what I thought at first, until I saw that they were all award tickets. I think the OP has since answered the question.
