Flying Alaska/JAL from Japan
This might be more of an Alaska Airline thread, but it is relevant for those of us who live in Japan.
I was looking for award seats to the US around Christmas.
Playing around with options on Alaska, I found ITM-NRT 23rd, NRT-JFK 24th.
Funny thing was there was no availability for just NRT-JFK on 24th. Nor could I do ITM-HND 23rd, NRT-JFK 24th (even though there are half a dozen JAL flights ITM-HND on 23rd).
I did call Alaska and though the agent tried to be helpful, they couldn't pair a ITM-HND flight with the NRT-JFK. The timing of the once-a-day NRT is not the best for me, plus I would rather spend the night downtown with friends than around NRT.
