will do.. i've heard a lot of good things about Dormy Inn.. unfortunately to get an ANA F award rather than my AA PE flight, I had to lose a day in Japan at the start of my trip, so I'll only get 2 nights instead of 3, though I did end up adding 3 days to the back of my trip .. but still excited to try the hotel out.

FYI, the Japanese version of the dormy inn website has more info than the English version of dormy inn. Google translate would help

the Kawasaki supposedly is a true natural hot spring.

https://www.hotespa.net/hotels/kawasaki/spa

Other ones , eg the ueno one, is supersoft filtered water (aka sento)

https://www.hotespa.net/hotels/ueno/spa/

(Dormy inn is one of my go-to chain, I think all have free late night ramen, onsen/sento, frozen milk dessert by the onsen at night, yakult by onsen in the morning

Super hotel chain, some of them have onsen/sento, their main page has a diagram describing which has what.

Anyone know of other chains with onsen/sento?

If we are discussing business hotels, then most Route Inns also have sento / onsen.

I had a feeling it was an actual onsen vs a sento (they use natural hot spring in their name, but didn't know if it was a gimmick) but wasn't positive and didn't dig in, thanks for this.

Fresh or instant?

Are there any good ramen restaurants or any restaurants near the Dormy Inn Kawasaki? I just checked the price for my date and I'm tempted to book!

It's fresh ramen. (half serving size, bamboo and seaweed. No meat), usually 9pm until 11pm or midnight depending on the hotel. Consider it a Snack

😋😋😋

You should have told me this so I didn't have to stay in a smoking room at an APA hotel! What time is the ramen served from?

Maybe 9pm?

The Kawasaki says 930pm-11pm
夜鳴きそば【場 所】 2F レストラン 旅籠【営業時間】 21:30〜23:00【料 金】 無料
https://www.hotespa.net/hotels/kawasaki/restaurant/.

Anyways, there are some capsule hotels that serve good (complimentar) breakfast for overnight price. that's a bargain.

(I tried this in Kyoto, 3000 yen for capsule+ free breakfast, their breakfast spread was great. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...ure_Kinki.html

I booked the Keio Presso Inn Kanda, which was cheap and includes free breakfast that I hear is good. I will report back after my stay in November.

I don't have time. I will be flying back to Tokyo next week. I guess it'll be either the Keio Presso Inn Kanda or the Dormy Inn? Which will be the best value and with good access to Haneda?

Dormy will have the best access, really quick train ride, and even quicker taxi if you really need.. kawasaki is only like 5 miles from haneda .. and all accounts i've heard that Dormy hotels are very nice.

different parts of my trip. When I arrive I'm staying at Dormy Inn Kawasaki as I have to get to HND at 5:30am for a 6:20am flight to Okinawa, and it has the quickest early morning train ride. When I get back from Okinawa I will be staying at the Keio Presso Inn Kanda for the remainder of my time in Tokyo as I'll have the JR pass to jaunt around Tohoku and it has quick access to both Tokyo and Ueno stations (one stop each way)

Which Dormy Inn have you tried? I'm rethinking my plans and the Kawasaki location no longer makes sense. I need to make a decision in the next couple of hours. Worse comes worse, I'll just book a night at an APA. makes
