Hi all, I am flying from Singapore to Haneda and then connect to Dallas next week. I have a 1 hour layover between the flights. Frequent travelers here, kindly help with my doubt pls.
I understand as its a connecting flight there's no need to re check in. Its Japan Airlines and its one booking. Is the 1 hour enough for the bags to be transferred to the connecting flight. Thanks in advance |
JL sold it to you so they certainly think it is doable, and if the worst were to happen they are the hook to sort you out.

Thank you. I have another connecting flight from Dallas - hence scared. Anyways my flight from SG is landing in T3 and connection is also in T3. Hope to make it.

If things end up really tight then you'll most likely be met at HND and escorted to your next flight. There's a transfer security exit right next to Immigration so you shouldn't need to go landside. JAL will make sure you get to Dallas. It might not be the same flight, but they will get you there as quickly as they can. With one ticket then JAL will make sure you get to where you're going to.. If it's separate tickets they will try but they may not be able to do very much beyond sympathy. The Japanese carriers (in general) are very good about taking care of their customers.

I am flying EWR HND with UA and booked landing in HND at 2:20pm on a Saturday
Planning on booking a seperate flight to PVG, the miles options I like are: JL HND PVG at 4:55pm ANA HND PVG at 6:40pm I'm assuming that's cutting it too close for the JL flight ? Other benefit is I'd book the ANA flight with UA also so same alliance which may help in case of delays. Thanks for any advice ! |

The JAL flight is cutting it quite close, and even with the ANA flight you will be on your own dime for a missed connection due to a delay. The only benefit from the alliance is that UA will check luggage through to ANA, should you have checked luggage. But I'd go for the JAL option if it was me.

No checked luggage, will be in J for both legs, and US Passport. I'm leaning towards JL also mostly because it'll be my first time into China and would prefer arriving earlier. I see arrival and departure at HND is terminal 3 so gives me some hope...

If United is on time, no problems in doing it. Arriving from the US, there is no transit security and it will probably take no more than 10 minutes from you step off the plane to being in the JAL lounge. Question is how much you trust United to not be late?

I have a question about checking my luggage through to the final destination with an overnight layover at KIX on JAL.
Specifically, my itinerary is LAX–>KIX–>PVG on a single PNR/ticket on JAL. The KIX connection is overnight (about 15 hours), and I will spend the night in Osaka. Will I be able to check one piece of luggage all the way through from LAX to PVG (without the need to pick it up at KIX)? Thank you, in advance, for your advice. P.S. I have called JAL customer service twice about this, but I got conflicting answers (one agent said no problem, but the other person said I couldn't because the connection at KIX was more than certain number of hours). |
