Flying in on Air Canada into Terminal 1. We have another separate booking to take us to Seoul on Jeju Air in Terminal 3. I'm assuming we need to need to exit immigration/security to collect our bags and re-enter immigration/security since bags will not be checked all the way through. We have 3h20m between landing and departure time between the two flights. I assume there are no issues with this plan?

Also, we return to Japan 4 days later to stay a few days in Japan before returning home. There won't be any problems at immigration both for our first short transfer and then the return a few days later will there?

Yes, you will need to go through immigration, collect your bags, go through customs, and bring your bags to T3. With separate tickets, it is a slightly optimistic plan. Check in will close 60 minutes before departure. The shuttle busses from T1 to T3 run pretty frequently. The challenge can be that immigration lines have been quite long recently, so there certainly will not be room for any delays on the flight, and things need to work pretty well.

No problems entering Japan twice shortly after one another, you just need to make two registrations on the visit Japan website, one for each arrival.

Thanks! Would it make it any faster by not having checked-in luggage?

Also, I assume there is no way to get from T1 to T3 by staying airside and not going through customs/immigration?

It will not change much.

If the immigration lines are long, the luggage will be ready and waiting when you get through and customs process is the same whether you have checked luggage or not.

If the immigration lines are short enough to make it to the luggage belt before the bags, you anyway have time.

You can't get to T3 airside. But if Jeju Air allows you to print a boarding pass from home, you could gain a bit of time by not having to be at the check in counters before bag drop cut off. I don't know if Jeju allows that, some Asian LCCs are very insistent that passengers come to the check in counters.

Flying LAX-HND on AA, then HND-TSA on JL, on separate tickets. I don't believe AA will interline my luggage on separate PNRs, even within Oneworld.

If someone has had the experience of rechecking bags for an international transfer in Terminal 3 HND, I would like to confirm that it is possible. According to the airport website, it is supposedly possible to recheck bags for an international connection. Also at NRT I have had the experience where the second carrier (JAL) intercepted the bags and rechecked them for me, that was many years ago. I have a 12 hour layover to deal with any contingency.

Thank you.

Flying USA-HND, HND-PEK, with an overnight stay close to HND.
Won't be able to do the PCR test in USA for China, so was wondering what a good option for the PCR test in or near HND would be?

They do offer PCR tests in the terminals at HND -- Here is a link: HND PCR Test

JAL currently sells a one-stop from SFO to TPE via NRT with a 1h25m connection (JL57 + JL809). I understand that if I were to instead book the first flight as an award and pay cash for the second, JAL has no obligation to get me on to that second flight in the event that the first is delayed; that said, how risky would it be to split the flights?

That depends on tour willingness to pay for flexibility on the second flight. :) The second flight will start boarding 20 minutes before departure, there is no security check on arrivals from the US but there can be quite lengthy walks in Narita. From the far end of the satellite building to the far end of the main building is actually a quite long walk.

There is room for delay, but not that much delay.

Hi. Been awhile to travel. I have an ANA ticket from ITM to SIN via HND. Landing in T2 HND and departing T3 HND. Connection time 1hr 50. Flight in 1 week's time.

Understand my luggage can be checked thru to SIN at ITM and all my boarding passes issued there as well. Getting from T2 to T3, is there an air side bus we can utilize or have to exit T2 arrival hall and take the public shuttle bus to T3 and re-queue for security to enter T3 air side?
TIA!

Details for transfer between terminals are noted here on the HND website. Yes, you will need to go through security as well as passport control to get to T3 airside.

Is it possible in Haneda to leave airside again after clearing transit security?

I've a 13 hour daytime layover in HND on a SIN-HND-GMP itinerary. Want to visit the JL F lounge upon arrival of my first flight to take a quick shower and have breakfast.
Afterwards I want to get into the city. Getting into the lounge or departure area won't be an issue as I will have my boarding pass for the second flight already. Just hope they're not too fussy about leaving the departure area again afterwards.

Yes, you have to get JAL staff to escort you to immigration to leave the airport.

Also, to confirm, there are technically 2 hotels, the Villa Fontaine Grand and Villa Fontaine Premier. My understanding is that they're at the same location, but just better room for the Premier. Is that correct?

To answer my own question - Villa Fontaine Grand and Villa Fontaine Premier are two different hotels, and the Premier is just higher-end. It only has 166 rooms.
