I feel like I'd stay up late and eat on the plane to get myself at least somewhat back onto UK time.

Since there are many in-depth reviews of Qatar Airways I only contribute with some informations which may be of interest for any future traveller to Tokyo:
1.) Risveglio Akasaka
I can fully recommend the hotel (thanks to henkybaby). Price / Location very good. A cab is affordable in case of a late night arrival at HND. Friendly staff.
Breakfast a little bit strange (french fries for breakfast) - but overall no issue.
2.) Private tour with Backstreetguides
New company. We had a private guide on two days. Experience depends on the guide for sure. Ask for Mayu - outstanding hospitality.
3.) Mobile Hotspot from Rentafone
Fast internet, no hidden costs. Device was already sent to front desk when we arrived at the hotel and we dropped it in a mailbox at HND airport.
I would recommend to take an external battery pack because you may need to recharge the device during the day.
Best Regards
