Motorcycle License

Anybody here have a Japanese Motorcycle License?

I have a driver's license which allows me to ride a scooter up to 50 cc but nothing bigger. I want to ride a 125cc scooter and for that I need to take a test.

Is it hard? Can it be done in English?

Is there a written part to the exam?

It was wise of you to ask this question on FlyerTalk, instead of foolishly trying a Google search and checking out the results.

I took the test on a whim and failed miserably (that day's a story in itself). It's not about knowing how to ride a bike, it's about knowing how to take the test. Ended up going to a driving school. I was the same age as the teachers and we became friends, because they usually taught 18-20 year-olds and enjoyed having someone their age. I had a great time. Passing the final riding test at the school automatically qualified to get a license, in other words didn't have to go to the official center to take the test. I'm rated for up to 400cc. Or you can do a Google search. :-)

You won't pass the test unless you go to school, which by the way is run by guys who retired from the testing center.
