I took the test on a whim and failed miserably (that day's a story in itself). It's not about knowing how to ride a bike, it's about knowing how to take the test. Ended up going to a driving school. I was the same age as the teachers and we became friends, because they usually taught 18-20 year-olds and enjoyed having someone their age. I had a great time. Passing the final riding test at the school automatically qualified to get a license, in other words didn't have to go to the official center to take the test. I'm rated for up to 400cc.
