Attention: Avoid "Yu pack" for the time being
Anyone planning to send baggage domestically ?
According to Asahi Shimbun (in Japanese)
"Yu Pack" delivery service is facing delays.
Some parcels are even behind schedule for days and those include chilled and frozen ones.
This is due to the confusion following recent merger of "Yu Pack" and "Pelican Bin" services and high volume for Japanese summer gift and Upper House election postal traffic, it reports.
In the meantime, use "Takkyubin"," ABC" or "Sagawa" to avoid the delays.

Slight tangent:
I had an incident with "Black Cat" Yamato this morning. We had ordered a shipment from themeatguy.jp and selected COD by credit card. When the package arrived this morning, the driver wouldn't take my credit card, saying "Sorry, cash only."
I immediately sent an email to Yamato about it, and to their credit, a manager showed up on my doorstep a couple of hours later, apologetically explaining that the guy had just been hired on a part-time basis and hadn't been taught how to use their new handheld credit card terminal.
