ITM (Osaka) - 1 hr 45 min wait to check in JL Business😡

Apr 27, so start of Golden week. But still WORST CHECK-IN EXPERIENCE EVER. Line was just not moving. Was not able to check in online or at self service. Only has carry-on. We were walked upstairs by JL agent at last minute to Global desk to check in. Used AS miles. No time to visit lounge; no time to spend last of yen, so super disappointed.

First day of GW is always somewhat hectic in airports and trains. Hope you got to spend your last yen at the arrival airport.

Hectic for sure! We didn't even know it was start of Golden Week. The monorail seemed pretty empty, so we didn't expect the airport to be busy. We did spend our last yen at HND. Thank you!

The challenge with partner awards are that they count as an international itinerary, so to look them up and check in online, you need to go to the international flow, not the domestic.

I mean, you know it's golden week.. perhaps the worst time to travel in Japan. This is a known fact. So, why the surprise?

Just use international OLCI. Sometimes it will just work

We didn't know it was the Golden Week. Even if we did, we wouldn't expect a business check in line to not be moving at all for an hour.

Down stair is the regular check in only though. The priority check in areas are upstairs, for the JGC and first class (OWS and OWE) Class J not really being a business class product does not come with priority check in. But if you were connecting to business class international you could have used the upstairs check in area from the outset.
