the kinks and details about 2021 status year will definitely need be worked out.
-do you get another 60,000 e-jal points, another year of wifi coupons, another fop 1.5x month for the April 2021-Mar 2022 year?
-how about the FOP accrued already in 2020? does that reset on January 1st 2021, or carried over into 2021?

-do you still have to pay the JGC card annual fee for 2020 year? (no benefit from the extension for bare metal JGC card members.)

Hopefully the FOP accrued this year expires as usual on 31.12. There is a full new year to accrue status in 2021. And while I don't expect travel will not be back to 2019 levels in 2021, we don't need an explosion of status members by giving people 18+ months to get their status built.

The 1.5 FOP month should just be killed off anyway, and replaced with a campaign of value to members. (old view point of mine). And the rest I guess I would say it depends on how long people are unable to fly, but probably most fair to most members to extend them along with the status.

haha...true.
I unfortunately already had 63k fop by the time corona rolled in in late march, and got to 104k fop after the special fop accrual today plus some last minute domestic flights earlier in April.
well, it would be sad to lose all these fop accrued this year without even a chance to fly internationally and use the status. just wait n see.

You don't loose them. You get the status until March 2022, and ample time to use that status.

Well this will be an unpleasant cramp to runners - First Cabin Group going under https://www.mbs.jp/news/kansainews/2...6yc29L0L16pAMM

Edit 18:13 (19:13): Only five First Cabins will immediately close (not include First Cabin Haneda). The remainder franchisees will revert to owners https://d2vvrahedad96d.cloudfront.ne...f7681b3d60.pdf

Yeah, I don't really subscribe to that argument about the FOP accruals being "lost" or in "wain" due to the extension. FOP are basically a consequence of needing or wanting to go somewhere, and we went so nothing is wasted. IMHO.

this corona special extension is for extension until 2021, meaning your status now expires in Mar 2022.
This was not what percysmith was asking. Read the posts please.

Good news from JAL. Those who ran in March and April now look like fools other than getting 60,000 points or 50,000 coupons.
JALPak and CPH-Flyer like this.

JL won't display it if you aren't eligible. I just checked by logging into a Sapphire account and the JAL wi-fi promote banner isn't there but I can see that from my Diamond account. Anyway...enough of OT...start a new thread if percysmith wants to further discuss this

I’m assuming if I chose partner status matching course for the gift selection then my partner will also be extended? There’s nothing indicated on the website.

Edit: or maybe not? I wouldn't expect to get another round of gifts if I chose the gift course right..?!
