Whoops. Sorry everybody. I just realized I flew out of HND not NRT. (It's pretty bad when 2 days after the flight you can't remember which airport you were in.)

Many apologies!!

Believe other carriers also only offer to F and top/mid tier elites only. All carriers share this at HND, you just can’t accommodate all the business class passengers unfortunately.

Indeed you are right. Didn't know...... first time I've flown J out of HND.

I doubt that's the problem. Wouldn't be that difficult to devote one security line to J (or feed J in at the head of the line.) I suspect it's just some dumb bureaucrat who thought it was a good idea.

LOL. Yes Haneda fast track is terrible. But that applies to all airlines. At busy times it is even slower than the regular line.

Except maybe TG. Somehow they have permission to take their F pax through the crew line, which is always quick.

Does TG still use the crew line for F passéngers? I have tried that before the premium line was there. But have not had a chance to try after.. Will test that soon though.

Once flying QR J as OWE with JAL, which does not allow for fast track either, I was let through the crew line as well by the kind JAL ladies manning the QR check in.

Not sure. Last time I did it was month or two ago. I usually take the red-eye and check in very late. There's never a line even on normal security so I usually skip the escort, unless I'm feeling chatty.

The fast track has been around for two years or so. So definitely after that.

giggles

but if you're at the main section and the fast track is long, go to the side entrance near the royal hotel escalator

I remember in Feb, around 23:30 at HND, the normal security line is quite long... I travel in NH J, and have to wait for around 30 min to go through it, fortunately the flight was delayed, hence I got sometime to visit the lounge

TG still sends F through the crew line. My escort was not chatty and did walk surprisingly fast. But looking at the lines I was very happy with the short cut.

I'm convinced I went through some kind of a fast track from HND internally every time I flew out of there (which is pretty frequent), and the queues weren't that bad?

There is a fast track for F and top tier of each respective airline, BA Gold for flying BA, JAL Emerald and JGP when flying JAL,ANA Diamond when flying ANA, etc. Mostly the normal line is fine and fast track very fast. But for certain times of day,it can stack up pretty quickly. Around 9:30 to 10 in the morning and 10 to 11 in the evening.

That explains it, thanks. I suspect I go through those things without being particularly conscious of the entry criteria, and have been lucky not to encounter a busy period.

Speaking of premium security, someone who is a JGC Premier or something but flying Y was trying to take 5 people through JL F security at NRT. His request was rejected, and he was told in polite but no uncertain terms that only one guest was permitted. 5 is taking the mick IMO.

He was really insistent and was holding up the entry for about 5 minutes so I decided to give him a death stare (in reality I had a long wait for the flight and I was quite amused at this point but felt sorry for the the poor suffering lady who was trying to reject him) and he finally gave up.

Those selfish people don't think about the fact they are holding up the queue or that they are lengthening the wait for others and deserved by death stare in any case

I've only departed on JL 2, before & after the schedule flip, so missed those peak times but I've found the north (left when facing that direction from the counters) checkpoint to almost always be just about deserted.
