Shower in Pisa after sleeper train?

Hello fellow FTers

I have recently booked a 'Vagoini Letto Deluxe' for on the InterCity Notte · 35738 travelling from Naples to Pisa. I understand there is a bathroom (I assume WC) in the cabin for our exclusive use; any ideas on where we can take a shower in Pisa? We arrive in Pisa at 05:58 and then leave for a flight home at 9pm the same day - a shower after the train would certainly be appreciated.

Many thanks!

I'm afraid you're out of luck... The "Deluxe" has indeed just a washbasin (the loo is actually shared if I remember well), and the only showers available in the station area are for the homeless. The "excelsior" cabins have private WCs with showers onboard.

By 05:58 assume you mean early AM and your flight is not out until 9PM so you have 15 hours in Pisa? Take the train to Viareggio (20 minutes) and go to a beach club with a shower, have a nice pranzo beachside and go for a nice swim.

If you mean 6PM arrive @ Pisa Centrale, then find a hotel near the train station (there are lots) that will give you a day rate (you probably want to get that squared away before you arrive) so you can take a quick shower and then take the Pisamover from Centrale to the airport.

Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, indeed 05:58 am. Your idea of a trip to the seaside does indeed sound like a good one - and much more fun that paying for a hotel for a few hours in Pisa. Grazie!

If you do this, you may want to check your bags, except what you need for the beach and to wear back, at Pisa Centrale (I believe there is a baggage check there). Then enjoy the beach. Viareggio is a bit commercial (there is a street with shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and a number of nice beach clubs so there's lots to do). In spite of it being developed, it's a very nice beach with wonderful views of the mountains and sea...

Viareggio last October - expect it to be more crowded in the summer but it is a BIG beach.
