The ones I'm talking about have the Trenitalia logo on them.
Also, at Roma Termini, I was able to buy the 4 for 40 deal, which I couldn't do at the airport. Then I had to do a separate transactions for the fifth ticket at regular price.

From Fco there is the Leonardo express fast train, a non-stop service every 15 minutes between Rome Termini. I personally chose a private transfer company, much more comfortable with a driver who waits for you at the airport and takes you right to the hotel. Price for 2 with Mercedes sedan 55 euros, very good. Link www.transfers-rome-civitavecchia.com.

The Leonardo can be very busy and full at this tim of the year. All the folks traveling with the kitchen sink/entire wardrobe don't help either.
or two people or more the cost difference with a taxi flat rate or other ride becomes minimal, plus they will go to your hotel or other final point. May well be worth it especially if the weather gets hot.
But thiis morninmg at 8 am, walking and the train were fine, as I was by myself.

True, as long as your endpoint is within the Aurelian walls, and even "truer" if one has to take a cab from Termini to the hotel!

Article in Italian: It's been approved for the fixed fare from the airport to within the Aurelian Walls to become 55 (not clear when it takes effect, but soon). Also the minimum fare for any taxi ride in Rome will become 9 on working days, 12 on Sundays and holidays.

Looking for a good last minute (72 hours away) transfer service from Civitavecchia to FCO. Any recommendations? I need a private van not public transport. Thanks!

RomeCabs is excellent. They are probably fully booked, but worth a chance. Rome Shuttle is often recommended, I have no personal experience:

Agree with the RomeCabs recommendation. We booked a 6AM transfer from our hotel to FCO. We got a confirmation email 36 hours before our transfer. Our driver arrived 15 mins earlier, and was waiting for us at the lobby of our hotel. The Mercedes SUV was clean, and our driver was very pleasant and professional. They accept credit card payments at drop off. Had to pay a premium price, but decided to book because of our morning flight.

Rome cabs officially charge per trip and not per number of passengers, according to the meter. There are exceptions (for example FCO-Rome withinh the Aurelian walls) when they charge a fixed price but, again, the number of passengers (up to four) is irrelevant!

If we're a party of 4 with 4 medium suitcases and 4 small backpacks/carryons, will we find taxis with sufficient room for the fixed price? I'd pay more for a larger taxi if needed, but haven't found price information online.
