A new year and a new IHG promotion. Answers to some Frequently Asked Questions below:

For newcomers to IHG promotions, note that Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn (including Holiday Inn Resorts) are two different brand categories for these things. If your dashboard says 'stay at a Holiday Inn Express' as one of the tasks and you stay at a Holiday Inn, it will NOT credit for the Holiday Inn Express task. (and vice versa)

For a task that says 'Stay X number of times at a Holiday Inn Express' (or Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, etc.) each stay must be at a different property for it to fully credit rather than staying at the same property multiple times.

An award stay only counts toward a task that specifically requires an award stay and will not count toward other tasks and night requirements for the purposes of the promotion. (Award stays do count toward general elite qualification, but that's outside this promotion)

'Redeem points' award nights only count for the 'redeem points' task and no other tasks. (example- an award night does not count toward 'Stay X number of nights')

At IHG, points + cash stays are simply points stays where you bought some of the points at the time of the reservation. Once you finish the reservation, a points + cash stay shows as a points stay. Thus points + cash stays only count for tasks where they are specified, and not other tasks.

Doing a points + cash booking and then cancelling it does NOT trigger a 'buy points' task completion. A 'buy points' task is a points transaction that is processed through points.com

The 'pay with your IHG credit card' task has typically been very slow to post. If it does within about two weeks of completing a stay, that's relatively quick, and it will often be several weeks beyond that, depending on when your statement closing date is and how IHG's system sweep is timed.

Some offers require booking within the promotion period in addition to staying during the promotion period.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but I'd like to make sure. My final stay is scheduled for Apr 30th. My rules say:
must be completed between January 15, 2019 and April 30, 2019 (both dates inclusive)
I would assume "inclusive" means that includes the night of Apr 30th/May 1st.

However, I am currently looking at my promo, and it reads:

Days Left

5
Today is Apr. 24th. I don't see how there could only be 5 days left if the night of the 30th counts.

I inquired about check in April 30 and check out May 1 2019 and was informed that yes it will count. So I think you are in luck.

I had difficulty with this one:
Corporate Account Bonus
Stay 4 time(s) using your corporate rate and earn 5,600 bonus points.

As only 2 of my 5 stays on my corporate rate were appearing and the promo was ending soon. I sent an email to the ihg rewards club containing my booking confirmations for 2 of the missing stays and a screenshot of the accelerate page, and it was resolved nearly immediately.

So all good, and I have won 75,800 points from this promo. yay.

Completed my first IHG promo and was able to earn a total of 109,600 points. Looking forward to staying at the Intercontinental Hong Kong in December on points!

Mine says 3 days left, on the 25th. I suspect their "countdown timer" is slightly inaccurate.

Yes IHG Club is making a mistake delaying. Honors has no gap between promos in May. Also Marriott and Hyatt have one going on.

My strategy is to burn points during the no-promo period since points stays wouldn't count anyway. When the next promo kicks in, I'll go back to paying for most and rebuilding my balance.

This question, about the "last" night, comes up every time, and AFAIK IHG always counts the last night as part of the promo. However, I've read reports from previous promos that people who wait until the last night wait a while before the points finally post.

I had even more trouble with that one. I have never used a corporate rate to book an IHG stay, so I had no way to fulfill that offer. The IHG computer messed up when it included that offer for me.

I am not too happy about this one.Even though all my stays are booked through a corporate portal (concur) i did not trigger the "use you corporate rate" one.

Additionally, I had the slightly strange
Platinum Elite Bonus
Stay 5 nights and continue your Platinum Elite status for 2019.

Even though my platinum status was already valid until the end of the year.
Furthermore, this is shown as 80% completed (with 4 stays shown under the details) even though another one:

Stay More, Earn More
Get closer to the rewards you want when you stay 6 night(s) and earn 12,000 bonus points

Is correctly shown as completed.

Final tally for me after last weekend's road trip:

Base Points 613
Bonus Point Packages 2,000
Earn More, Faster 6,600
Stay at {X} IHG Hotels 5,600
Stay 2 times and get 5,000 bonus points 5,000
Discover Our Brands (2 brands) 24,000

Pretty easy goals to meet - 2 single night stays covered everything. Counting base points, welcome points and the bonus packages, 47580 total. Just the accelerate promo pints are 41000.

I did not get the 1500 for paying with the select card, 'cause I left it at home. I did get 1250 or so Citi points though.

Total cost, 266.83.

The hotels I stayed in would run 25000 and 15000 for rewards nights, so I'll call it 7500 points in profit.

Hmm, my final stays posted, but my completion bonus counter stopped! Got all the points except that one.

Same here. I'll wait a while before complaining. Judging by previous promotions, It often takes IHG a while to post bonuses.

Has anyone's "Your Achievement Bonus" points been posted yet? I met the "Complete 4 out of 5 offers" requirement by the deadline and all the other offer points are posted, but the Your Achievement Bonus is still showing 50% in progress.

I did sent a request through the "missing points inquiry" tool and the missing "achievement-bonus-points" were added promptly and with email confirmation.
