This hotel has been confirmed, opening 2013.

The hotel will have 192 rooms, and will be a high profile building. The original press release stated "The hotel will bring InterContinental to Scotland for the first time"; they'd obviously forgotten about the George, and the press release has now been amended.

Are hotels opened above?

All the Staybridges outside of the US seem to be taking longer to open than expected. The map on the international Staybridge site shows only 2 locations open and the rest expected (the Dubai ones don't seem to be there at all though)

Although this hotel has been built, it has now been placed on hold and removed as a Candlewood Suites property. It, and another hotel which was built right next door are now not scheduled to open anytime soon and construction has ceased at both (buildings themselves are built, but interiors are not completed.

Holiday Inn Garden Court Lyon Part Dieu?
 

Has HI Garden Court left IHG? I checked last week for rates, got offers, then wanted to book an easter weekend last saturday, got both HI Garden Courts in Lyon (France) with "no availabilty", on Sunday the more-out-of-the-city-one was back and was now the only IHG-hotel in Lyon mentioned. The "Part Dieu" one obviously left the chain right after renovation and right before I finnaly got there for the first time. So, change of plans ... any chance of another presence of IHG in Lyon? And Bordeaux would be on my list as well for a IHG comeback inner city ...

frechen - my understanding is the HI Garden Court brand is being dropped and hotels are gradually converting into full HI after some refurbishment work. Does anyone else know any more information?
In terms of the specific hotel, it is owned by Alliance Hospitality who operate about 40 IHG properties so I would think it was unlikely to change.

@ davidw70: it is gone on the Alliance Hospitality site as well (if it ever was there, can't find anything when "google"-ing). The other one (the Villeurbanne), which is available on the IHG site as well, is mentioned.

I don't think the Part Dieu hotel was owned by Alliance; only the remaining hotel is.

Holiday Inn Garden Court is a Brand which will close down step by step. Only in Belgium, France and German is the brand still alive. Hotels would officially change to either Holiday Inn Express (like in the HI Gent/Belgium) or Holiday Inn. The Hotel in Lyon closed down 22.03.09
