It's a pashmina/scarf thingy. At least, that's what they give if there's a lady on the booking, not sure whether it would be different for a lone male...

Well, if last night is anything to go by, it doesn't make any difference whatsoever. I still got the pashmina/scarf thingy!

I was offered the pashmina, but requested an alternate, as I was totally pashmina'd out from previous stays!

Was very happy with the mounted print. ^

Sorry if that has been discussed before. Has anyone (with no IC status) on an award stay requested or been offered a paid upgrade to have lounge access at this hotel? If so, how much is it?

Is it typical of Club rooms at IC to NOT offer complimentary in-room internet?

These are benefits at IC SIN:

• Private hotel check-in and check-out at Club InterContinental lounge
• Peranakan welcome tea service upon check-in
• A library featuring Peranakan literature at Club InterContinental lounge
• Daily breakfast from 6.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
• Afternoon tea served from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 5.30 p.m.
to 7.30 p.m.
• A premium selection of coffee and tea available all day
• 24-hour access to fitness centre with gymnasium, sauna, jacuzzi and spa services
• 24-hour professional secretarial services. Charges apply
• Free pressing service on any three pieces of clothing
upon arrival
• 25% discount on all laundry services
• Personalised Club InterContinental Concierge service
• Complimentary internet and wireless broadband access at Club InterContinental lounge and The Lounge
• A boardroom to conduct meetings (limited to one hour
per stay)

I called to inquire about in-room internet and was told complimentary access is only at the lounge. :-(

My understanding is that "free in-room internet" is limited to certain hotels (and not the IC SIN) or only if booked at certain "promotional" rates.

That's my main beef with IC Singapore. There's no reason to have to pay S$30 a day for in-room internet when most other ICs offer complimentary in-room access as a club benefit.

Consistency of benefits is not always a good thing - they could always standardise on NO free internet

Perhaps more important in structuring IC SIN's internet strategy is what other 4 & 5-star hotels in Singapore do. Sadly, my experience remains limited to the IC and the CP - any more wide-ranging experience?

From what I know, Traders chain offers free internet. Hyatt, to its middle and top tier elites, Starwood to its top tiers.

In most hotels with club lounges, they almost always offer complimentary in-room internet.

This one strikes me a strange.

Sheraton Towers & St Regis SIN - SPG Plat gets me free internet
Hilton & Conrad SIN - Hilton Gold will get me free internet (from 1st Sept)

The above are on all stays, irrespective of rate paid or award.
