A tradition of Kimpton is to have secret social passwords periodically during the year (note - this means there are periods when there isn't a password). Any guest mentioning the password at check-in will be given an amenity at the discretion of the hotel. This thread lists the current password and what members received.

Based on recent history, there is a winter password that starts around the US Thanksgiving Holiday in November through the end of February and a summer password that starts around the US Memorial Day Weekend in May and ends around the US Labor Day Holiday in September.

Current Password "Chalet All Day"
Valid Between 1 December 2023 and 29 February 2024

Official postings will come from Kimpton via social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and X (fka., Twitter).
The thread documenting what was offered in previous years may be found here - https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/othe...rd-thread.html

Q. What happens if a property isn't aware of the secret password promotion?
A. If you have a mobile device, go to Kimpton's Facebook or Instagram feed, find their post announcing the secret password, and show it to the uninformed staff member. If needed, escalate to a supervisor. After the fact, send a note to IHG Customer Care or post a message via social media to Kimpton's attention.

Q. Is the promotion limited to IHG Rewards/IC Ambassador members only?
A. No, the promotion is open to any guest with a reservation at the hotel.

Q. Is the promotion good for award stays or is it only for paid stays?
A. The promotion is good for any stay, paid or award.

Q. What if I forget to mention the password when I check in?
A. You can always try and mention it at the front desk later during your stay and see if they will honor it. YMMV.

Everly Hotel, Hollywood, California

Plinko Board is enthusiastically pulled out. Since I’m Inner Circle, I get all the options. Asked for F&B credit like last time and was granted it immediately.

Regarding the Sir Francis Drake SF, this hotel has always had very poor Inner Circle recognition and upgrades (even when having lots of availability!) The Buchanan is the only other Kimpton remaining in SF, and while the recognition and upgrades are good, it only gets you so far because there are no suites.

I’d avoid this hotel.
For sure even excluding the cheap present, in general the Sir Francis Drake should be avoided. Read the reviews. The hotel is in major need of a renovation. Unfortunately, the IC Mark Hopkins in going down the same path. Not as worn out as the Sir Francis Drake, but they are both hotels to consider only for the location. San Francisco is a city where the hotels tell the guests to go suck eggs.

I had intended to use my final good-at-any-hotel credit card certificate in San Francisco, but have decided against it.

Is there a secret phrase valid at this time? I know the previous one expired on 9/2. I don't see anything on their twitter...

I have a stay coming up at the Kimpton Nine Zero in Boston this weekend. Hoping for the best.

There isn’t one, next one will be in the Winter if they follow previous patterns.

When? I plan on a stay around the 20th of December, will they announce one before then?

Our last good-at-any-hotel credit expires in march but we just had a baby. Is there any way to extend it? Can we book it and then cancel and rebook?

Last year it was right around Thanksgiving. I’ll bet you will be good on 12/20.

Happy to see there’s a new secret password - “”Stay Human” - but it doesn’t start until AFTER my Thanksgiving stay ends?

Kimpton Rouge Hotel, Washigton DC
Checked in the first day (Friday 11/29) and mentioned the social password. Front desk was not sure if they were participating, but she checked with a manager and she came back with 3 options:
A. Free Valet Parking ($47/daily)
B. $25 credit to Bar Rouge
C. 10,000 IHG Points
I took the points option. I'm checked out now and they have not posted so will monitor over the next few days.
12/4 Update: 10,000 points posted!

Checked in yesterday at The Lorien and was offered complimentary parking or a bottle of wine, neither of which I wanted. I asked for breakfast instead and received a free American Breakfast, up to $25 value.
