Update 2019: The RA status granted at the start of the calendar year 2017 and 2018 has been based on IC revenue. As from 2019 criteria again have become vague. RA is not achieved through IC spend only. Other, unknown elements are taken into account as well. (Fact: Some users with very high +25k IC spend were not renewed in 2019.)

Update December 2018: it looks like some accounts are proactively being renewed in December 2018, well ahead of the stated expiration of Jan 31, 2019. It is currently unknown what criteria were used, but previous years appeared to indicate around $10K++ in IC spend only.

Rats, forgot to screenshot my account before zeroed by IHG on 1st Jan

Renewed RA as expected as well over the us$10k++ IC spend last year that seemed minimum requirement

From memory
IC Paid = 55nights us$13000++
IHG Paid = 4nights us$900++
IC Award Nights = 8
IHG Award Nights = 20

o Updated wiki, though moved the 2018 renewal to be above the old 2017 figures.... easier for us to update
o Could 2017 RAs that missed out 'narrowly' for 2018 RA Renewal could post their 2017 counts too (eg above $9k++ IC Spend ), thx

I counted and I had 40 IC nights, $9,186 spend. I emailed asking for a manual review of my account and for consideration of stay history and brand loyalty.

My account now says spire but I think I only did 9.1k and possibly only 8k IC but 50 nights.
oh well spg here I come (LTP and hilton diamond)
last year i was 75 nts and 12.5k

App shows 30/12 2018 exp cannot log on to website at the moment.

IC Only:- 43 nights across 5 properties 154k EQP $15K qualified spending

No paid nights at any other brand just 6 nights on points at a HI

Just as a datapoint, my rollover nights have not been processed but RA has been renewed.

So if someone spends a week at an upgraded room in Bora Bora, they would easily spend $10K-13K. One seven night stay may get them RA?

My partner renewed with 10200 usd net spend at ICs (rooms/f&b).

I dropped to spire elite (not even AMB) per front page of acct and Awardwallet with 17K+ spend.

ETA: The line RA renewal is on my acct activity though, so I will hope its good.

I don’t think we have a data point for that, but I doubt it. I think you’d still need some token number of IC nights across a few properties. Of course, other brands don’t count - I’m glad this was the case this year, I’ve literally not set foot in any HI/HIX, and only went to CPs in Japan that are decent business hotels. I really think IHG shot themselves in the foot when they started ignoring “other brand” spend - but it allowed me to go to other chains, so I guess it’s a net win for me?...
