Well you can't really blame them for not building a hotel in Libya and Syria.

This hotel is still "Soft open". Due to building design doesn't meet IHG safety standard (Width of emergency stairs/exit), IHG don't allow to enter the reservation system. But hotel is operating under the name of Calidas Hanoi Landmark72.

Indeed

Still it shows that hotel development under franchise is a difficult job (and quite an uncertainty for both customers and stakeholders).

They shouldn't have bothered opening the London O2. Horrible, soulless place with inept reception staff.

On a positive note, St Paul MN now has an IC in what was a Crowne Plaza IIRC until about six months ago.

IIRC the place was a Radisson before that.

Hopefully there will be more devellopments in the area which will increase the buzz at the hotel. I do love the secret passage to the O2 where you walk semi-backstage/suppliers entrace, gives it a big filmstar feeling.

I found the staff very friendly, which in my experience is at every Intercontinental i stayed in up till now (Bali, Singapore, Wien, Frankfurt, ParisLeGrand, AmsterdamAmstel, LondonParklane, TorontoYorkville)
