I'm down to only 1 stay left to finish off my Big Win challenge. With no travel scheduled today or tomorrow I'm probably going to miss it. Does anyone know if it is possible to book the room and pay for a night without having to check in? Would I still get the points?
By getting the last night it's well worth the price of the room since hitting my wins would net me 100K points.

Just book room if you have a HI/X in town then check-in then leave.

Do IHG hotels deliberately post stays as Non-qualifying at first with hopes of not getting caught? It has happened to me 3 times already, and each time I had to call up the property to get it fixed. I cant help but wonder if this is a deliberate thing. 3 out of 4 is no coincidence.
Now my last stay at the IC KL is posted as Non-Qualifying again, and I hope it doesnt screw up my Big Win even if it gets fixed, now that it is over. I stand to lose about 30K points.

Mine has posted as non-qualifying as well. It didn't affect my Big Win though. Just email them and give them hotel name, dates and your booking reference and tell them it's a wrong posting. They fixed mine within 24hrs.

Hopefully not, at least not with the ridiculous requirements that I had for the Spring 2014 version. My requirements were so beyond what I normally do that I steered nearly all of my business away from IHG during this promo. Unfortunately, I ended up having to do one night in England and one night in Japan that will create some even crazier requirements for the next time. I rarely travel internationally, but the stars aligned and I was booked into these properties by my company. I wasn't complaining at all about The Strings-IC in Tokyo, but know it will come back to bite me in the butt later.

I completed all my tasks. How much did you all end up spending for this promo?
I spent nearly $160 for 63,500 points. I earned some extra points for each stay as well.

How many of you didn't get a "qualifying" stay because you used a portal to book (say, Chase UR)? I want to book a couple stays and like getting the 3 UR points, but I've read that some people have been told that booking through a portal will make it a non-qualifying stay -- even if the actual booking is through the IHG website.

Mine probably cost me about £1,000 all in all, for 60,000. That was out of pure choice though, as 4 of my 7 night stays were at a CP in Portugal for my stag do and 1 stay was at a HI in London on a Saturday night.
