I booked Palazzo Prestige Luxury Suite for $299 for one night, did a best rate guarantee and it was approved. On Priority Club's website it showed $180 @ Venetian for a Bella View Suite instead.

I called Palazzo's resort services and just asked them to email me a confirmation, which showed the COMP and the correct Prestige Suite. It also had a different confirmation # for Palazzo.

I think when IHG acquired Venetian/Palazzo, the booking engines don't quite get along.

Yes it is a downgrade from Prestige at Palazzo to Ventian because Ventian does not have a concierge/lounge level. The lounge is great at Palazzo. Breakfast, snacks, cocktail hour included as well as private check in level.

also moved..

Booked a Bella View suite at the Palazzo - but has been changed to exact same room but at the Venetian. Reading this thread it seems like a computer glitch..
But, being an ambassador, is the upgrade better or worse at the venetian compared to palazzo? Not being RA, but merely Gold Ambassador, I assume I will not be upgraded to Prestige level?

any insight whatsoever is truly appreciated

+1

Usually Upgrades are better at Venetian....but Palazzo is a nicer property. I personally am very happy at the Venetian and it is nice. Your upgrade most likely will be from your given room type, to a view room or something of that nature. Dont expect multi-level upgrades here, but I have enjoyed my stays.

hey guys, so as of Jan 5th 2021 this just happened to me and I was pissed. I am glad I found this forum.
BUT, when I called the hotel to confirm my reservation, they informed me, that the entire tower was being closed because of COVID. The casino and amenities are still open, but no one will be staying in the tower apparently. I am going to try to see if I can get some kind of small upgrade or resort fee waived because of this. I cant complain too much, as my room was comped and was just and entry level. But I like the Palazzo so much more.

My trip is on Jan 14 to 17 so I will et you guys know what happens.

These two hotels are about to be sold. MGM Grand and Hard Rock are in the running so its likely they won't be part of IHG much longer. The sale will move very quickly so watch your reservations.

Technically, it was never an IHG hotel. It is just part of an "alliance" to earn points and benefits. Now while a sale may change that alliance, it doesn't necessarily have to. I'd be curious to know how much business the IHG alliance brings in. Remember, IHG is a big international brand too.

Wow, thank you for that information Calitalian! Those two have always been my place when visiting the Vegas in-laws over the years. That's sad news, IMO definitely the most bang for your IHG buck as far as luxury rooms and ambiance. All the more reason to pursue the current Hyatt promos for status.
