Routing help - Is this possible?
Hello all,
Planning my wedding and honeymoon trip and have had no luck getting reasonable prices with any combinations of stopovers/connections using skyscanner, google flights, and individual routing codes with ITA Matrix. In the odd occasion it does price, it goes into Y which is inflating the cost heavily.
Essentially, I want to go from London to Melbourne, Melbourne to Male, Male to Mahe (with a stop over anywhere if possible), then Mahe to London (ideally via QR as I'm interested in qsuites for these segments).
In my tests, I've had some price out for GBP5000 and GBP14500, which is crazy for economy! Is this right? If not, does anyone have any suggestions for how to price it out or search for it? Is this something that needs to be done by a TA?
Thanks in advance!

Dates? 2 people presumably? The problem is the Male to Mahe flights, it's substantially cheaper to book LHR-MEL, MEL-MLE, SEZ-LHR and then tack on a MLE-SEZ flight separately. For this, I get it to price out at around 3000 GBP. If you instead do MLE-LHR, it prices out around 2200 GBP. Of course, there are additional costs for the MLE-SEZ(-MLE) flights, but still substantially cheaper.

Yes 2 pax, Dates wise we're looking at 07/01/24, 14/01/24, 22/01/24, 27/01/24, but these aren't open yet so I've just been playing around to see if I can find some routing I can book with points or upgrade.
Thanks for the advice on the separate mle-sez, are you suggesting we book a return and just ignore the last segment for a lower cost?

There are a number of ways to do Male and Mahe as you desire, whichever one you pick is up to you. I'd also look into making this a RTW (round the world) itinerary, as they can benefit from substantially cheaper booking costs. For example, if you LHR-(anywhere in NA)-MEL-MLE-SEZ-LHR that should qualify.

You may get some ff awards/upgrades but expect the chances of that is low. Fixed dates makes it hard.
Getting to AU at those dates for a reasonable price hard. Many travelling to/from AU due to holidays and the Australian tennis open in the last weeks of January.
Many threads on getting to MLE, with a lot hoping for awards. Most fail.
As above nested separate round trips and/or open jaw may be the option based on DOH (or DXB)
For those destinations a real live walking taking experienced travel agent may be of value
Wanted A map from the Great Circle Mapper - Great Circle Mapper
Nested round trips -- A map from the Great Circle Mapper - Great Circle Mapper
The RTW on line tool has problems. But all are OW destinations so possible.

Good luck with getting this arranged !
