Business Card Question

Can anyone tell me if a public partnership is a valid business for getting a business credit card? My wife works with the government in a public partnership to take care of high needs kids. Not sure if she can use this for a business card or not?

You would be advised to turn to the bank/credit card company in question to ask them what the specific requirements of the specific card you have in mind are.

But on the face of it, it is not at all clear which "business" you are referring to here - the government, or your wife directly [as a sole trader/contractor], or whoever may have directly employed your wife.

Sole Proprietor, using just her name as the business name, for child care (for keeping bills separate) would work fine for a business card.

At many banks, it's actually easier to get approved for a business card by pretending to not have a business yet (ie, your name as the business name, your address as the business address, your phone as the business phone, sole proprietorship, 0 years in business, $0 annual business income, 0 employees [not counting yourself]) than by trying to give info about a real business, because with real business type answers the bank may demand proof of business or various other perhaps-hard-to-produce documentation, which they don't tend to ask for if the preceding is how you filled out your application.

If you have an EIN for the business go for it.
