Compression or space bags

Hi, I plan on only taking one carry on bag but will be in countries with summer climates, then very cold climates later.
So I put my floor length, fur hooded down coat in one of those compression bags with the vacuum valve, where you use a vacuum hose to take the air out.
Are there any restrictions with TSA screening or with having these bags in the cabin? I did try an internet search first and the information seemed vague to me.
I will be flying Delta internationally. I can visualize a disaster if for some reason this bag lets loose in the cabin mid-flight!
Thank you in advance for any information that you can share.

Disaster? I think not, just a fluffy coat. Ive used the big bags for clothes in checked luggage. As long as you get the good quality bags, youre fine.

I've also used them in checked and carry-on bags - won't be any problem at all. Second the above, get good quality bags - they'll hold up better and last longer.

The Travel Products forum here has several threads about compression bags/cubes. Here's a typical one:

Compression Packing Cubes- Which brand?

I've suggested to the moderators that they move this thread to that forum. Maybe they will.
