connecting flights question

we are arranging flights to vacation in Vegas from UK in July.

Direct from LHR to LAS is around $1200 round trip but booking a round trip to Vegas from Dublin (instead of London) is only $400.

However, the Dublin - Vegas route means Dublin - London - Vegas and changing planes at London and boarding the same BA / Virgin flight from LHR to Vegas.

Can we book from Dublin but ignore the Dublin - LHR leg and get on at LHR or will the ticket be voided?

thanks

Your ticket would be voided the moment you don’t fly a segment in sequence. Position out to DUB the night before and treat yourself a bit with the savings.

On the return, if you’re hand baggage only, just walk out of the airport. If you have luggage you can try telling them that you’re not feeling fit to fly and gather your luggage there.

Nothing has changed. You must fly all segments in the order issued or have the remainder cancelled.

You are saving $1,600 (presuming two of you) and can use a part of that to purchase the LHR-DUB return and spend a night and have a decent meal in DUB.

Enjoy Dublin and Vegas. Be sure to explore off the Strip Vegas. It can be quite and interesting town.
