name on booking
Hi,
I just noticed that my travel agent has linked my title to my first name , eg...
Susanmrs Smith. My question is will that cause me any problems at checkin? I'm already finding it hard to add my FF no to the booking. Any advice Pls?

I hope you're right, I usually do bookings straight from Airline website, but this time I decided to go through a travel agent. I was a bit worried
when it was pointed by the airline when I called them to find out why their system wasn't letting me add my FF no.

Thats the problem, I called the airline & they couldn't do it. They suggested I email them when I come back to do it manually. But I keep wondering, why is it they want me to wait till I email them after I come back to credit my account with the miles ? if its such a simple thing, why can't they add the number manually now?

I'm not sure I understand clearly. You are able to log on to the Ethiad website and call up your reservation, for which you have both a booking reference and a ticket number, correct? The problem is that you cannot add your FF number to the ticket on the Ethiad website? I don't understand why a call to Ethiad doesn't rectify this, because they can certainly add your number to a valid ticket, but if all fails, have the counter staff do it when you check in.

Have your TA take care of all of this. There is no sense in paying a TA and then not letting them handle administrative details.
For future reference, it is best to simply omit titles. If your name is Susan Smith, book it as just that. Adding a title adds nothing, is not required, and will not cause problems but evidently causes worry for you.

It is the agents responsibility to address this issue, as up until its much closer to departure time they own the ticket. This includes OTA (Online travel agent) such as Expedia or CheapOAir, some of which may seem less willing to act in your interests.
Where something like this could potentially pose a problem, as reported on FlyerTalk, is departing on an international flight on an airline with rulebound and not well informed ground agents or ultra-rigid immigration authorities. Id push the agency to get it fixed, though this is generally not very worrisome.

Just show your FFP card/number at check-in (or enter it when you do OLCI). There is no reason to waste time on this now.
"Susanmrs" Smith is not a (spelling)mistake - depending on the system this is the way your details appear in the reservation. There is nothing to correct. When you boarding pass is printed it will look like Smith/Susan Mrs. Most likely 50% of all bookings are made like this.

True, but sometimes selection of a title is forced by the site/system so you don't have any choice.
Agreed, this will not be an issue. For work travel our name used to always be mashed together with the title (required) and our middle name or initial... Mr. John G. Smith = SMITH/JOHNGMR - wasn't a problem in many years domestic and international work trips. After a change to a new provided a few years back it stopped happening except for lengthy names (and title is no longer mandatory).
OP can always try another agent on the phone (not all agents are helpful or competent as we all know), or as you said, just handle at check-in. I'd just do the latter.

Thankyou everyone for your advice, I really appreciate it.
I logged on again to " Manage a booking " & hey presto our FF no has been added, looks like one of the agents I spoke to at Etihad
had enough wit about them to add the no. I also called the travel agent ( it's an actual shopfront not online ) & they assured me that it should be fine.
So thankyou everyone for your thoughts & advice, & wish us luck, we've never flown with Etihad before ( we usually prefer Qatar or Emirates ) so not exactly sure what to expect on a 14hr flight.
