which star alliance miles program
My first post here so advice of the experienced is highly appreciated
I became a (very modest) frequent flyer this year. I live in Belgium and I take a bout 25-30 flights a year, most of them to Scandinavian countries due to work. This year I took the miles and more route by flying exclusively with LH group (either Brussels Airlines or Lufthansa). While in terms of award miles I am not doing too bad (I also have a miles and more credit card that delivers a lot of miles), in terms of status there's no way I can get to Gold. As a result, I would like to put my eggs elsewhere in 2019. My clear target will be status and not awards, since the only credit card route I have in Belgium is Miles and More.
I was going to switch to Eurobonus, but I have two issues:
- They changed currently thier points system meaning economy flights will not get me very far
- My cycle with them is Sep to Sep (I was awarded a Silver EurI obonus card by a colleague last September), so not sure I have enough time to get to gold.
This is why I am starting to look at Turkish Airlines which seems an interesting option - you can earn status in any star alliance airline, and Gold is achievable with my number of flights.
Advice however is appreciated. I am not sure which route to take, and I need to take a decision now (I am about to book my first business trip for the second week of Jan).

What do you expect status to do for you?
Earning status on Eu only economy flights is hard work.

A3 may be a good option for you whilst SK flights still have high earn rates (100%, 600mile min on all economy fares). This could change in the immediate near future.
Asides, requalification is relatively easy after first qualifying especially if you make a trip down to Greece

Hi,
Before my question please let me apologise for posting on this tread but i cant seem to work out how to start a new post/thread. I would be very interested to hear opinion on whether or not i should transfer my Velocity points to Kris flyer at the 1.35 velocity to 1.00 kris flyer rate. I am Australian but live in Europe. We travel back to Australia usually once per year from either Berlin or Frankfurt. We also travel to USA once or twice per yr. We have about 1 million velocity points, also have lots of Citibank points which i can transfer to Velocity but not sure just what to do with them. Thanks and Kind Regards,
