While in terms of award miles I am not doing too bad (I also have a miles and more credit card that delivers a lot of miles), in terms of status there's no way I can get to Gold. As a result, I would like to put my eggs elsewhere in 2019. My clear target will be status and not awards, since the only credit card route I have in Belgium is Miles and More.
I was going to switch to Eurobonus, but I have two issues:
- They changed currently thier points system meaning economy flights will not get me very far
- My cycle with them is Sep to Sep (I was awarded a Silver EurI obonus card by a colleague last September), so not sure I have enough time to get to gold.
This is why I am starting to look at Turkish Airlines which seems an interesting option - you can earn status in any star alliance airline, and Gold is achievable with my number of flights.
Advice however is appreciated. I am not sure which route to take, and I need to take a decision now (I am about to book my first business trip for the second week of Jan).
What are your objectives with a ffp?
What do you expect status to do for you?
Earning status on Eu only economy flights is hard work.
