Exclamation Missing a flight with Jet Airways

Hi there,

I booked an international flight from B to C for 9:30am under my name. I also booked another flight (domestic) from B to A for 9:10am- mistakenly under my name which was supposed to be under my dad's name. I called Jet Airways but they won't do a name change and will have to cancel it (honestly, the flight is cheaper than cancellation charges). What if I don't show up for the domestic flight (since it was booked under my name by error so I don't have to pay the cancellation charges) but show up for my international flight (B to C). Both the itineraries are independent of each other. Will my international flight be cancelled if I do that? Thanks for any information you can provide to help.

Regards,
Sania

How much personally identifiable information is included in each reservation? An airline isn't likely to cancel a flight simply because two people with the same name have tickets booked on the same date at the same airport. However, if your frequent flier number -- or address, birthday, passport number, etc. -- is attached to both flights, then it might be an issue.

If it's on the same PNR you're probably going to get your international flight cancelled.

Otherwise you are fine I'd say.

You should be able to cancel witthout paying cancelation charges. Just explain you are going to rebook but don't have the date yet.

If on 2 separate bookings and separate tickets (not on a single PNR as stated above) there will be no issue.

I suggest to call 9W and ask them to cancel the ticket as you are not going to use it. You will only have to pay to cancellation fee if you request a refund. Just suggest 9W to keep the amount paid...
