Looking for USA/Oceania advice; I looked in the Oceania forum but didn't see a lot of these types of posts there. I found some posts in the Information Desk general forum like this one, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/infor...-planning.html, but I thought I'd ask first.

I did see the previous post on sites to maximize point value / find the least expensive awards, and I'm also researching those sites.

There really isn't a place for general award planning advice other than the Info Desk. If you have points in specific programs, that is where you should look. Note that there are also many services who will provide you advice on how to use your points to travel specific places, for a fee. If you do post in Info Desk, be sure to indicate what research you have done on your own, as it really is difficult to give good generic advice.
