newbie trip planning
Hello all,
I am new to the points & miles game and I am trying to plan my honeymoon for April 2017. It's a little ambitious but the plan is to travel from the northeast US, to the Maldives then visiting Singapore/Malaysia then Hong Kong before heading home.
I'm considering JFK-SIN-MLE-SIN-KUL-HKG-JFK
I'm looking for the best way to accumulate miles/points to offset the cost as much as possible. I have excellent credit and don't mind opening a few credit cards to do so (as long as I don't hurt my credit in the long run). My fiance is still working on his credit so I'm trying to get enough points for the both of us.
Ideally I'd like to have enough points/miles to fly JFK-SIN in Singapore Airlines suites/business class with a business class flight HKG-JFK (possibly Cathay Pacific). I plan to use low cost (probably Tiger Air) to get me in between those cities. I'd also be willing to pay cash for a one way home HKG-JFK assuming I go that route.
I currently hold an AMEX platinum, Chase freedom and most recently the CSP with the 55,000 bonus points.
I'm looking at applying for the the Citi Prestige for the 50,000 bonus as well as it seems like a better product than the Amex Platinum for my uses.
All 3 can transfer miles to Kris Flyer.
I'd like to also apply for Chase Hyatt for the two free nights at the Park Hyatt Maldives however I am concerned my timing for application and Chase's 5/24 rule. The CSP is the first card I've opened since my Amex in 7/2014.
I don't have much of a balance of points currently but I'm currently trying to work the cards I have for the most points.I'm also considering applying Citi Premier (40,000 bonus) as well to make up the points difference to get closer to suites however that's not my first choice if I'm applying for the other two.
Any suggestions for routes on this trip and/or points strategies?

Congratulations!
You're on the right track for accumulating points in various programs that you can in turn translated into SQ miles. I hate to say this, but it might be a bit late in the game if you're just starting to accumulate those points now, as it's best to try to redeem any airlines' miles when the window for award flights open, for most airlines about 330 days in advance. But it's still worth the effort, in that sometimes award seats are available closer in and even if SQ doesn't happen you can still try other airlines, obviously.
Having said that, the other main option is Starwood, where if you spend sufficiently on its personal and business cards (albeit perhaps a hefty $5K over three or four months???) you can convert the 25K miles for each to SQ and other airlines' miles, at the nice rate of 20K Starwood points = 25K airline miles.
Another bonus option is the Chase Ink business card.
And check out the Korean airline personal and business card bonuses, via US bank. Korean has the advantage of having comparatively good award availability, even far less than 330 days in advance. Those sign-up bonuses won't get you enough for business or first class flights, but you can top them up with, I believe Chase Ultimate Reward points (and perhaps Starwood as well?).
I guess the only thing is that all of this would be helped a lot if your fiance's credit is sufficient to at least get a few cards with bonuses. Your respective credit ratings won't take serious enough hits to hurt you unless you're planning on taking out a major loan such as for a car or house in the next year or so (in which case you might have to pay a higher rate on the loan).
Good luck!

veembe, you've asked the identical question on the same day in the same forum. I know you're new here, but please don't double-post. It doesn't get you faster answers and just confuses the replies.
