Historical Flight Delay

Hi,

I have a bit of a bizarre situation going on. Back on 4/7/2011 my mum, stepdad and sister flew from Glasgow International Airport to Sharm EL Sheikh. The flight number was TCX3648 and was scheduled to depart at 17:10. The flight was delayed and never actually took off until around 22:30. My mum throughout the whole delay was updating her social media page regularly and has copies of all of these which are time and date stamped. The flight eventually arrived at Sharm shortly after 6am when it was scheduled to arrive around 22:30. Now my mum has been back and forth with Thomas Cook and eventually the CAA got involved and informed her that Thomas Cook did indeed owe her compensation in accordance to the new legislation. According to the guidelines set out she was due 450 per person as her flight was delayed over 5+ hours and over 3500+ kilometers. Now Thomas Cook have claimed the flight was only delayed 235 minutes but they have repeatedly refused to provide her with the flight information to support their claim. We have checked all the internet flight history sights and here is where it gets bizarre, there is no trace of this flight whatsoever. Even when you check the departures from Glasgow airport on that date there are none going to Sharm and again when you check arrivals at Sharm there are none from Glasgow or Scotland even, and also there is no record of any return flight. Can anyone help us find the flight info? Or direct us to someone who can?

Thanks in advance for any help

Welcome to FT, mrsmagic147.

Well, you've left it a bit late I think. Four years ago this would have been much simpler! The two most common sites to track historical information are www.flightaware.com and www.flightstats.com Both of these will require you to sign up for searches beyond a week or so, and in your case I'm sure you'll have to pay a subscription to go that far back. The CAA also maintains these data, so you could have asked them to provide it if they were already involved in the dispute. Another thing you might try is www.oag.com, where you may get a free trial. The reason your flight doesn't show up when you search now is that it's a historic flight number and the older data are hidden behind a paywall.

I used this firm of solicitors to progress a claim against Thai

https://www.bottonline.co.uk/flight-...ion/calculator

It also allows you to check online..

Hi,

I understand it is quite a while ago but what I don't understand is why there are other flights that come up for departures and arrivals on that day, but the flight in question is no where to be seen. Surely if it was a case of it being too long ago, no flight information would be available for any journey?

I will try the website you suggested, thanks.

Perhaps this was a scheduled charter or ad hoc charter flight?

Four years ago... I'm not sure much will be gained at this point. Is there any statute of limitations governing EC 261 / 2004 claims?

Hi

Thomas Cook have agreed to pay compensation, the dispute is coming from the amount offered. We need the flight information to solidly prove the length of delay as I'm not sure if Facebook posts will be enough.

I just find it strange how there is no record of the flight there or back whatsoever.

Check the historical data, and accept what it tells you. Then file your claim again with TC. Between the OAG and CAA data, you should have enough.
