Best Advice Re Registration?

I'm in a quandry about getting a hotel reservation. My flight arrives at 1:30AM. Should the reservation be for the day before or for the day of the 1:30AM arrival?

if you want to check in at 1:30am, reserve the night before and let the hotel know your arrival time.

if you want to check in 12 hours later, make a reservation for that day.

The day before, otherwise you may not get s room until the early afternoon, ie a 12-hour wait.

You should book for the day before arrival if you want to be sure of having a room, and communicating clearly with the hotel in advance of your proposed arrival plans.

If you do not do this, you risk the hotel listing you as a "no show" at midnight "turn" (or possibly even earlier) and your room being released by the hotel's "Room Controller" (or person fulfilling that function).

I did all of this recently for a very early arrival in Lima, Per, to assure we had a room held for our arrival.

The wait may be longer than 12 hours. Many properties have 3 and 4 PM check-in times. If he arrives at 1:30 AM, he may not have a room for 14-15 hours.

Definitely book for the night before and definitely make certain that the property knows of your arrival time. If booking online, I would also call the FD of the property on the day of and make certain that they know.
