One month between flights?
Hi all,
I'm new to Flyertalk and collecting miles and I've got a question:
On this thread:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milea...m-via-atl.html
there is a roundtrip AMS-ATL-EZE-ATL-AMS
Departure date august 26, and the trip back to AMS is september 23rd.
Are they really staying the month? Or do they take an other trip back home in the mean time? I someone could explain, please do!
Regards, Mike

Depends on the person. Maybe they have friends/family to stay with or other options. Or, maybe they use it as launching point for other flights. No one knows but the person booking it

I've done an open jaw over a period of four - six weeks - with travel by riverboat, coach and rail between places I was visiting in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia. IMO it's fairly common.

Welcome to FT, mike3009!
Are you asking whether it is normal for people to be away for a month? This is quite common, both for business and private trips. My parents commute between their two homes, and are currently one month into a two-month stay away from their main residence. We usually spend April at a place in SW Florida we have. You'll find plenty of people here who are away for a month or more for business reasons, especially if you're going to slightly out of the way places.
