Reward options from YYZ->SYD using AAdvantage/Cathay miles/Aeroplan
Looking to book an economy ticket for 1 one way (maybe round trip?) from YYZ to SYD. Just wondering what the best options are.
So far Ive got YYZ->JFK->SYD on JJ and Qantas with AAdvantage
Does YYZ->HKG->SYD on Cathay work?
Aeroplan I'm less familiar with

Not with AAdvantage miles. AAdvantage awards between North America and the South Pacific do not permit any third-zone transit.

If you go via Asia its 2 AA awards
Cathy awards nominally will come from same availibity.
