Commuting between cities

I am considering engaging a position that, if offered and accepted, would require I commute weekly by plane, Atlanta to Connecticut. Just curious if that is feasible. What pay increase would be needed to compensate financially? I have researched and consider I would likely drive a car to Connecticut for my use, saving rental money there, but there is airport transportation, airfare and obviously housing costs in Hartford.

Any ideas, advice or comments about pursuing this opportunity. It may be a lucrative pay increase.

Thanks

I'd budget at least $400 a week on airfare. It's technically doable, with nonstops on Airtran and Delta.
But it might be better to just move and stay in hotels in Atlanta twice a month. The winter flying alone would frighten me.

Be aware as well that there may be tax implications. I would consult a tax attorney or do research independently, as tax residency in that case could get a little complicated.

Many people commute by plane on a weekly basis, it's definitely not unprecedented nor particularly cost-prohibitive. Consider that you will likely want/need a car in both cities (rental or owned), and have the usual food / housing / airfare costs to worry about. Airfare will be variable prices, but buying appropriately in advance and shopping around can help cut that down. Keep in mind that airfare will potentially be substantially higher over holidays.

Best of luck!
