Delhi Stopover help...

Hello all

A (pregnant) friend has got a changeover (10 hours) in Delhi coming up in a couple of weeks. She's a bit concerned about some of the horror stories she has found about the conditions at the airport and would ideally like to nip out to a hotel for a proper lie down and quick sleep before the next flight.

The thing is she is inbound from Singapore on Qantas and then flies out of Delhi to Mauritius on air Mauritius. She is a UK citizen.

Will she need to apply now for any special kind of visa or just a regular one so as to go to a hotel for the night?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to FT, kaiser_soze. There is an India Forum where I believe you will find the answers you seek.
Thus, I am moving your thread to the FT India Forum.
Good luck.

The Grand New Delhi is acceptable and close. But please book in advance. Do not rely on "helpful" people outside the airport to go to a hotel. Five Stars are prohibitively expensive. That is all I know.

there is a transit visa if she's staying less than 24hrs. it's pretty cheap. she should check the embassy website for UK - they'll have all instructions.

The Radisson is very close to the airport. Check out the thread for more information about hotels in the area.
