Arrow Best flight from US to India

Hi, I am planning to make a trip to Delhi, India (DEL) in Jan-2007 from Miami, Florida (MIA). Wanted to see if somebody can share their knowledge on where to find the best deals for this trip + any tricks and tips for the trip?

What are you looking for?
Flights on a specific alliance, such as Sky Team, One Word or Star.
Specific Airline.
Shortest time.
Cheapest fare over all.
Cheapest fare on A specific alliance.
Most EQMs.
Most miles.

Yaatri, the alliance/airline do not matter, though I am looking for a stopover in London (LHR) on my way back, so only the flights traveling thru there are the ones I would look at. Most miles would be a good criteria within those!

AA from Chicago (ORD) to Delhi. 777 over the top of the world - easy as pie.

If I could fly out of LHR then I would go BA because I think they're better, but flight time will be longer due to the angle of the dangle, as it were.

Don't start with the angle of the dangle jokes. In my slightly inebriated state, I might add to them in a way to get me suspended from FT.

AF/DL via Paris and AA/BA via LHR are the fastest options for you.

Many cheaper fares no longer allow free stopovers. So a stopover would increase the cost.

To fly via london, the possibilities are
Air India
Virgin Atlantic
Kuwait Airlines
Gulf Airways
Not sure about Emirates
BA
AA/BA.

BA does not give 100% miles on cheaper tickets.

And with the CO/VS codeshare you can earn miles?

Question skyteam / best flight?

hi guys..

i actually have a similar question, but would like to go in Jan from the NYC area to Bombay....

which carrier (earning 100% onepass miles) would be best from NYC to Bom?
[obviously, Continental doesn't do this route...]

Pricing.. I'm getting around $1000 [tax inclusive] for Virgin and Emirates and around $1250 for Delta (JFK-BOM)... I haven't flown Virgin OR Emirates to Bombay before

Also, I believe I get my Platinum OnePass Bonus (125%) on Emirates and Delta, but not on Virgin.

As far as what I'm looking for.. would be "most fun" and free booze in Y... shortest flight doesn't really matter... Thoughts?

Thank you.

I actually ended up getting KLM from MIA to DEL via Amsterdam with no stoppage in London. It cost me around $1200 for the same.

deviantdesi, as far as your trip is concerned, I think you should go with Virgin...tried and trusted.

I would choose Virgin and Emirates if you want to enjoy free booze. not to mention the IFEs on both carriers. Emirates has the ICE and Virgin has the V:Port. Both are AVOD with over 300 Hrs of videos etc. You will enjoy both flights.
