18 hour layover

Hello, next week I have flight from Colombo to Frankfurt via Mumbai with Vistara. I have 18 hours layover in Mumbai. Whole trip is on one ticket.

I don’t want to leave the transit area, and would like to use transit hotel. I don’t plan to apply for visa

1.) I want my luggage to be transferred from Colombo all the way to Frankfurt as I don’t plan to get visa. Should be possible?

2.) Do I actually need visa? I guess not right?

3.) Is the hotel in transit area open?

Thank you

The bags will checked thru to the final destination. You don't need a transit visa. The niranta transit hotel is open and the entrance located just behind the international transit desk. When you get off the FRA flight make sure to contact a Vistara ground crew and ask them to clear you for international transit.

Niranta website for the intl transfer: https://www.nirantahotels.com/nirant...sfers/Overview

My flight is from Colombo to Frankfurt via Mumbai. So there is no risk they will tell me, “hey sorry your layover is 18 hours, you have to pick up your luggage again in Mumbai and check it again to Frankfurt”?

Your luggage will be transferred in any case since you are on one ticket. There is no need to get a visa to do this.

When you make a reservation at the hotel they will send you instructions on what you need to do to get to the property after you land.

They will check the bags thru, the baggage system in Mumbai is similar to what you have in MUC (Siemens operates and maintains the baggage handling systems in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore) the bags stays in the sorting system until it is time for your next flight.

Thank you! One more question: how do I distinguish between both Niranta hotels? Its bit confusing, especially when using booking.com or Agoda, etc

You book with Niranta directly. They have a 6999 Rs package that includes all.
