Getting to the Airport

For the one's who are still travelling in these times, just wondering how are you getting to & from the airport in these times ?

Going by India at-least, Uber/ Ola used to be the easiest way to get to and from most Indian airports. But i don't think all of the Uber/ Ola cars are being sanitized after every trip. One could probably use one's own car to get to their home airport and the same for the end of the trip. But at your destination, what's it like... Hotel car or book from a private agency of some repute (and hope they're sanitizing on some level) ?

I am interested in this question as well.

Further to this question...
Now TamlNadu has this 10PM-4AM curfew ...so, if you have a 4AM flight, do you have to go to the airport before 10Pm the previous night?

i believe travel to the airport, train station, etc is exempted from the curfew....you just have to show a copy of your ticket if stopped....

I wouldn't trust anything to be sanitized, even hotel cars. And a lot of the regular 'airport runs' cabs drivers are obviously drunk, driving at high speeds and weaving in and out of traffic for the thrill. Remember that India leads the world in traffic fatalities so keep that in mind with any car travel.

hotel cars are more sanitized & safer than airport cabs....all the hotel cars i've taken in the recent past have also installed a plastic screen between the front & back seat to make travel for the passengers safer than usual....

Yes they are, but don't expect that to prevent getting covid.

nothing & everything can prevent getting covid....that's not the point....a grand-uncle of mine has been in a coma for the last year & he contracted covid recently....on the other hand my cousin is a doctor who has been dealing with covid patients for over a year now & he hasn't got covid....even when i got covid, my family didn't catch it from me....

a hotel car is safer & cleaner than an airport cab & right now i will take that on any given day....

I know that, that wasn't my point. My dad passed away from covid in Sept and my grand uncle is a doctor who also deals with covid with his team of specialists. My point was not to be complacent even when a car looks clean. I too would take a top end hotel car versus anything else...

Yep. Stay safe. Thank you for the condolences. My best to your family and I hope he pulls out of it. My dad's whole saga is right here on flyertalk: Need to Fly and Cannot Bring Back Covid

The aerosol circulation in an a/c car is the biggest problem right now... keep the window open and sweat instead of the sharing the aerosols of the driver and past passengers.

I wonder about this though in the urban areas crawling through traffic with lots of people and riders on 2-wheelers around. I'd say the AC is safer at that point as long as it isn't on recirc. Not to mention the safety factor from 'snatch and grabs', etc.
